There have been 28 strikes and 7 protests in Serbia since the start of 2012, with 9,956 workers participating in them, the department of economic and social issues of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia stated on Monday.

There have been 28 strikes and 7 protests in Serbia since the start of 2012, with 9,956 workers participating in them, the department of economic and social issues of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia stated on Monday.

There were 13 strikes and 5 protests in February alone, with 7,673 participants.

The Tax Administration strike in early February was the largest, having 4,000 employees from across Serbia taking part, followed by protests in 45 city and municipal governments throughout the country.

The media, public and utility services, preschool education and defence, textile, metal, beverage and tourism industries all experienced strikes and protests.
