Two people were shot dead, and six were injured, in posh Bucharest, Monday evening.

Two people were shot dead, and six were injured, in posh Bucharest, Monday evening.

One was already dead when the ambulance arrived at the place, the head of the SMURD emergency rescue squad of Bucharest and llfov County Bogdan Oprita told Agerpres.

Two people, with severe wounds in the abdomen, one person shot in the head and in comma, and another victim shot in the belly and who suffered a heart attack were carried to the Floreasca Emergency Hospital, said Oprita, adding that three more with injured legs were hospitalized at the Elias.

The person who suffered the heart failure died, while another person had a panic attack, Bucharest Ambulance Service's manager Alis Grasu explained, later.

Minister of Administration and the Interior Gabriel Berca instructed the head of the Romanian Police to promptly go to the site in downtown Bucharest, in the neighborhood of the Perla restaurant (Dorobanti thoroughfare), that left two dead and six seriously injured.

The Minister of the Interior said that the attacker policeman was hired in 2007 from an "outside source."
