Unidentified persons opened fire Monday at the facilities of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica leaving no one injured.

Regional spokesperson of the Kosovo police Besim Hoti told Tanjug that the shooting was directed at the office of the Democratic Effective Municipalities Initiative (DEMI), which is a part of the USAID program, causing minor material damage.

The Kosovo police qualified this incident as causing general danger, the spokesperson said.

Hoti added that the incident most probably took place over the weekend, when the office was empty.

The case was reported to the police, and for now there are no suspects, Hoti said.

The target office deals with the development of municipal structures.
