Hungarian President Pal Schmitt will arrive on an official visit to Belgrade Thursday, at the invitation of Serbian President Boris Tadic, the Serbian president's press office said in a release Tuesday.

It is expected that the two presidents will discuss improving bilateral relations, Serbia's eurointegration and regional issues.

Hungary chairs the European Union in the first half of this year.

Schmitt's visit should have taken place a few months ago, but was cancelled due to Hungarian president's illness.
