Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic stated late Friday that Serbia is now just one step away from obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership, and added that the key agreement was reached late Thursday, when disagreements between Germany and Serbia were resolved.

Kosovo will not be represented as a state in regional organizations. Kosovo is not a state and the agreement reached in Brussels confirms that, Jeremic told TVPrva.

He noted that, after all misunderstandings between Germany and Serbia were cleared up, and everyone within the EU supported that, there was no more room for Pristina to resist reaching the agreement with Belgrade.

Jeremic also said that he hopes that a positive decision on Serbia's status will be made in Brussels next week.

He pointed out that some countries started to show certain reservations in the last moment, giving the example of Romania, whose request related to the position of the Vlach minority in Serbia should be taken seriously.

The conditions for acquiring the EU candidate status were clear. They have been fulfilled in a way which is in line with important, basic state interests, the Constitution of Serbia and Resolution 1244, and I believe we have every reason to hope for a positive outcome, Jeremic concluded.
