The Kosovar radical opposition movement 'Self-determination' (Vetevendosje) has harshly criticised the agreement reached today in Brussels by Kosovo and Serbia on Kosovo's representation at regional forums.
The movement has announced that a protest will be staged on Monday outside the government building. Talking to journalists, the leader of the nationalist movement said that a demonstration will be held on Monday for four hours in Pristina, adding that there would be more until the word 'Republic' is placed alongside 'Kosovo' for participants at regional meetings.
'Self-determination' - which has over past weeks seen road blocks set up to prevent trucks loaded with Serb goods from entering Kosovo - has at the same time announced an initiative to convene an extraordinary session of the Kosovo Parliament. If they are not successful in attaining this with the signatures of MPs, they will start collecting those of the citizens, the movement's leaders said.
The agreement reached between Belgrade and Pristina foresees a card with the word 'Kosovo' to accompany delegates at regional meetings. Next to the word, an asterisk will refer to a note saying that the term 'Kosovo' does not in any way refer to the status of Kosovo, and that this is in line with UN Resolution 1244 and with a ruling by the International Court of Justice which found that Kosovo's declaration of independence did not contravene international law.
