Dinar hits historic low of 110.2 against euro

The Serbian dinar dropped to a historic low of RSD 110.1939 for one euro, despite an intervention from the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) which sold EUR 30 million in the interbank foreign exchange market Friday in order to prevent excessive daily fluctuation in the exchange rate.

The dinar is down 0.8 percent from Friday, four percent on a monthly and 6.2 percent on an annual level.
The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate stood at RSD 81.7948 on Friday. The Serbian currency was up 50 paras from Thursday, but weakened 1.3 percent compared to one month ago and 8.5 percent compared to a year ago.
This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, when the middle exchange rate was RSD 103.6922 per euro.
