The social map and the standard of the Serbian citizens in the economically difficult 2011 is the topic of the Roundtable organized by Tanjug news agency, which will be attended by experts on social issues, economists and state officials.
According to experts, the most vulnerable Serbian citizens are the unemployed, persons with disabilities, children, Roma, internally displaced people and refugees, large family and senior households.
The experts warn that poverty could take on bigger proportions unless the economic situation is stabilized and new jobs are opened soon.
Serbian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic stated at the end of 2010 that there were about 650,000 poor people in the country and that the government was taking concrete measures to prevent hunger among the poor.
According to the official data, 20 percent of the total number of the poor receive social welfare from the state.
